Book in

Send the idea. We'll send a price and a date.

This form is the consultation for most people. The artist reads it, comes back with a quote and two or three dates, and nothing is booked until you have seen the number and paid the deposit. Usually two working days; longer if the artist is mid-way through a full day when it lands.

Enquiry

Tattoo enquiry

The more of this you fill in, the closer the quote will be. If you genuinely do not know the size yet, say so — that is a normal answer.

Demo form — it does not submit anywhere. In a live site this posts to the studio inbox.

Getting here

One turn off Stokes Croft, on the left going down. We are the black door between the print studio and the record shop — there is no sign at street level, just the rosette on the glass.

Bus: anything up Stokes Croft — 5, 24, 70, 72. Get off at Jamaica Street.
Train: Bristol Temple Meads, then 20 minutes on foot or eight in a cab.
Parking: the pay-and-display opposite, or Backfields after 6pm. Do not park on the double yellows outside — they are enforced daily and it is a fixed penalty.
Step-free: the front room and the accessible toilet are level from the street. The back room is up two steps; tell us and we will put you in the front chair.

Jamaica Street, off Stokes Croft. Car park opposite.

Before you come in

Registration, ID and the medical form

None of this is a formality and none of it is negotiable, so it is better read now than argued about at the counter.

Registered under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982

Registering authority
Bristol City Council
Public Health & Protection
Premises registration
BCC/SP/028712 Jamaica Street, BS2 8JP
Registered persons
All seven artists, individually — guests before their residency begins.
Insurance
£5m public liability and treatment risk, renewed each March.
  • 18 and over, no exceptions. Under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969 it is an offence to tattoo anyone under 18, and a parent cannot consent for you. Physical passport or in-date driving licence — a photo on your phone is not ID.
  • Consent and medical form. Completed at the studio, every visit, even if we tattooed you last month. It covers blood thinners, diabetes, keloid scarring, allergies, pregnancy and skin conditions at the site.
  • Single-use kit, opened in front of you. Needles, cartridges, tubes, ink caps, razors and film, straight from sealed packets into the sharps bin on the bench.
  • No alcohol, no drugs. If you turn up having had a drink we will rebook you and keep the deposit. It thins the blood, it pushes ink out, and you cannot consent properly to something permanent.

Certificate of registration and Bristol City Council's byelaws are displayed by the front desk. Records are held for three years under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Complaints come to us first — book@lineworktattoo.co.uk — and to the council's Public Health & Protection team if we don't put it right.
