Move day
The day, hour by hour.
No mysteries. This is what happens, in the order it happens, on almost every move we do.
-
The knock
Crew arrives, floor protection goes down before anything moves, and the foreman walks the load plan with you.
-
Wrap & load
Furniture into transit blankets, fragiles export-wrapped, heaviest on first. The cube is packed tight so nothing shifts.
-
The drive
Load strapped, tail-lift locked. You go ahead with the kettle and the keys; the crew phones twenty minutes out.
-
Set-down
Boxes to their labelled rooms, beds rebuilt first so the day ends properly whatever else happens.
-
The walk-round
Nothing is signed until you've walked every room with the foreman. Then the crew leaves you to the kettle.
What we do
Four jobs, done properly.
Home moves
Flats to farmhouses, across Leeds or across the country. Fixed quote, named crew, one day for most three-beds.
Office & small business
Weekend and out-of-hours moves so Monday opens as normal. Crate hire, IT boxed by us, BS 8522 methods.
Containerised storage
250 cu ft sealed wooden containers in our Cross Green warehouse, £23 a week, packed by the crew at your door.
Clearance & end of tenancy
House and office clearance under our Environment Agency waste carrier licence, with end-of-tenancy cleans to hand back done.
The fleet
Sized in cubic feet, not guesswork.
The survey measures your move in cube; the cube picks the vehicle. These are the three that do the work.

What protects you
The badges, explained in English.
Every remover wears logos. Here is what ours actually commit us to — each one checkable at the body's own site, not ours.
BAR member H112
The British Association of Removers audits us annually and binds us to a code of practice monitored by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. Not a logo we bought — an inspection we pass.
Check our membershipYour deposit, guaranteed
The BAR Advanced Payment Guarantee protects every deposit: if a member firm fails before your move, the payment is safe and another member completes the job.
How the guarantee worksInsurance that means it
Goods-in-transit to £50,000 per load on a declared-value basis — you tell us what it's worth and that is what it's covered for, not a pounds-per-item cap in the small print. Public liability to £5m.
What's covered, in fullIf we get it wrong
Free independent dispute resolution through the BAR scheme, escalating to the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman. You never argue with the person you're arguing about.
The complaints routeWord of mouth
Moves people mention by name.
Floor protection down before a single box moved, and the upright piano arrived without a scratch. You watch this crew work and you relax.
Completion slipped twice. Harker's moved our date both times without a murmur — the deposit just moved with it, exactly as they'd said it would.
Eight weeks in their containers between houses. Everything came back exactly as it went in, down to the wine glasses my mother left me.
Storage
The chain breaks. The container doesn't.
If completion dates fall out of step, your load goes into sealed 250-cubic-foot wooden containers in our Cross Green warehouse — packed by the crew at your door, never re-handled, insured at declared value while it waits.
£23 /week per container
Storage, in detail
Fair questions
Asked on nearly every survey.
Do I pay a deposit?
20% on booking, protected under the BAR Advanced Payment Guarantee. The balance is due on completion day — never before the van is loaded.
What if my completion date moves?
It moves with you. The first date transfer is free with three working days' notice; short-notice changes are re-planned around the diary rather than charged by reflex.
What about parking at either end?
We arrange suspensions with the council where needed — typically around £115, passed through at cost on the quote. Where a suspension isn't possible, the crew plans a long carry instead and tells you before the day.
Can you move a piano?
Uprights, yes — piano board, three crew, £95 on the quote. Grands go to a specialist partner we've used for years, arranged through us so there is still one point of contact.
Are my things insured in storage?
Yes — declared-value cover continues while your containers are in the warehouse, on the same basis as in transit. The schedule is available before you book, not after.
Next step
Fifteen minutes on your phone. A fixed price by tomorrow.
Walk us through the house on a video call — attic, shed and the awkward alley included. A written quote follows by the next working day.
