Keep the material information.

Good care starts with identifying the finish that was actually installed. Retain the product reference and the instructions supplied for the tile, grout, sealant and any treatment.

Know the surface.

A stone, a glazed ceramic and a textured porcelain may need different care. The product’s own information should be the starting point rather than advice based only on its appearance.

Ask which products or tools are unsuitable, whether any ongoing treatment is required and who to contact if the finish changes unexpectedly.

Keep a small room record.

Save the supplier, batch or product reference, installer details and written care notes together. Photographs of the completed junctions can also be useful for a future conversation.

When a mark or damaged edge appears, describe where it is and what changed. Avoid trying an unconfirmed treatment simply because it worked on another material.

A question about an existing room?

Bring the product details you have and say where information is missing. A specific question is easier to review than a guessed diagnosis.
