Where one surface meets another.
A frame, sill or threshold can have a different finish from the glass it surrounds. Treat these edges as part of the scope conversation.
An edge register
- Timber and painted details
- Describe the visible finish and any known product information. Mention existing marks or fragile areas for review.
- Metal frames
- Record what is known about the finish without assuming the appearance identifies the material or coating.
- Stone and tiled sills
- Note the adjoining surface and any guidance supplied for it. The provider should consider how the proposed work meets that edge.
- Seals, tracks and hardware
- Ask what is included. Care, mechanical adjustment and repair are separate matters and should not be bundled into a vague scope.
