Hello from the Puddle Park team

We are a small playschool with big ideas about play. Children here climb, paint, dig, build, sing and sit in a tent with a book - and learn a great deal without once being told it is a lesson. Our team stays small and our groups stay small, so your child is known by name, by interests and by their favourite jumper.

What a day looks like

Play and explore

Messy play, building blocks, water and sand. Children choose, we follow their lead and add the next little challenge.

Stories and singing

A story tent, a song for every part of the day and a daily circle time where every voice, however small, gets a turn.

Garden and outdoors

Wellies on, whatever the weather. Digging, growing, climbing and splashing - because fresh air is the best teacher we know.

A peek inside

Fees and funding

Morning session

8.30 to 12.00 with a snack and a story. The most popular way to start - a gentle first step away from home.

Full day

8.30 to 3.30 including a hot lunch, a nap corner for the little ones and outdoor time both sides of lunch.

Funded hours

We accept government funded early years hours for eligible families and will walk you through the forms. No jargon.

Questions parents ask first

Tap any question. No question is too small - we have heard them all.

We always keep to or better the legal ratios for each age group, and our groups stay small so every child has a named key person who knows them well.

Every child starts with free stay-and-play visits, then short sessions that grow at their own pace. Parents are welcome to stay for as long as it takes - nobody is hurried.

We cook fresh snacks and lunches, display every child's allergies and dietary needs in the kitchen and the room, and re-check them with you each term.

Not at all. Nappies, potties and accidents are completely normal here, and our team will gently follow your lead at home.

Come and see us in action

Visits last half an hour, take place mid-morning so you see a real session, and children are warmly encouraged to come too. Tea is on us.
