A little preparation. A clearer visit.

Use these prompts to discuss the property with the provider. Follow its actual instructions; the checklist does not decide access or tell you to move heavy items.

Before the visit

Ask the provider what it needs to know before arriving. Mention gates, pets, shared paths and the window groups you want discussed.

Who agrees the ordinary entry arrangements?

Home preparation questions

These are prompts for discussion. The provider confirms its actual policy.

The home preparation list

Tick only what you have considered. Ask the provider about anything uncertain before the visit.

Leave difficult items for discussion

Heavy furniture, fixed blinds, restricted spaces and awkward exterior areas deserve a question rather than an improvised solution. Explain what is present and let the provider confirm how the proposed work will be reviewed.

A photograph taken from an ordinary position can help the conversation when the provider asks for it. Do not climb or lean out to collect information.

Anything still unclear?
