Bring it to the survey

A sequence to agree, not assume.

This is a conversation guide for ordering decisions. Your installer establishes the actual work sequence, materials and readiness checks after reviewing the room.

From first record to handover.

  1. Record the room

Gather known information and identify the areas that need inspection. Note what must remain usable while work is being planned.

  2. Resolve the unknowns

Ask what needs further assessment. Agree who provides missing information and how findings could change the scope.

  3. Coordinate related work

Bring fittings, other finishes and relevant trades into the conversation. Clarify the decisions that must happen before tiling begins.

  4. Agree materials and layout

Use confirmed product information and actual measurements. Review visible edges and transitions together.

  5. Confirm readiness and handover

Ask how the provider confirms each stage is ready, and what records and care guidance will be given at the end.

Keep the responsibilities visible.

Owner questions
What decisions are needed from you and when? What parts of the room must be cleared or made available?
Provider questions
Who confirms the preparation method and product suitability? How will changes be recorded?
Related work
Who coordinates fixtures, services and neighbouring finishes? Which dependencies may affect the plan?

Turn the sequence into your questions.
