Story

The person in the room

Mara Voss writes the songs. Echo Room is what they are called once the air around them is part of the arrangement.

Story

Mara Voss records as Echo Room.

She writes in rented rooms and mixes late, close to the speakers. The name is not a band. It is the place the songs think they are standing in.

Static Hymn is the first piece from a record about signal and distance — the way a small room keeps a voice after the singer has gone down the stairs.

Silence, here, is an arrangement choice.
