The boutique

Two benches, one workshop above the shop.

Everything sold here is made, set or resized upstairs — not shipped in from a wholesaler and dressed up as bespoke.

Fifteen years on Milsom Street

Elena Solvay and Tom Rowe opened the shop in 2011 with one bench, a secondhand rolling mill, and a conviction that a jeweller should be able to explain exactly what a customer is paying for. Elena trained at Bishopsland after ten years at a Hatton Garden workshop; Tom is GIA-trained and grades every stone the shop sells personally. Between them they have cast, set or resized several thousand pieces since opening — the count is on a chalkboard upstairs, updated by hand, because a spreadsheet felt like the wrong way to keep it. Every piece over the legal threshold still goes to the London Assay Office for hallmarking, the same as it did on day one.

“Seven weeks, exactly as they said. The CAD render meant there were no surprises.”
