This policy explains what cookies are, which ones FastSites uses, and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, and this policy covers those too.
2. Your choice
We set strictly necessary cookies automatically, because the site cannot work without them. Everything else — analytics and preference cookies — is only set after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the banner, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site, such as logging in, from working.
3. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
- Session and authentication — keeps you signed in and secures your session. Expires when your session ends or after 30 days.
- Cookie preferences — remembers the choice you made in our banner, so we do not ask again on every page.
- Security — helps protect forms and detect abuse.
Preference
- Theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Regional settings — remembers the currency and country you selected.
Analytics (only with your consent)
- Usage measurement and session replay — we use Microsoft Clarity to see which pages are visited, how people move through the site, and where they get stuck. Clarity records a playback of your visit — the pages you saw, and where you scrolled, moved the pointer and clicked — along with your approximate location, browser and device. It masks the text you type, and we do not use it to identify you, but it is a recording of an individual visit rather than an aggregate figure, which is why we ask before switching it on. Nothing loads unless you accept. See Microsoft’s privacy statement for how they handle it.
Cookie-free visit counting (no cookies set)
- Visit counts — we count visits to our public pages with Umami, which we run on our own servers. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it cannot recognise you on a later visit. It records the page address (without anything after a “?”), the site that sent you, your browser, device type and approximate country. It never counts your dashboard, your published website, children’s pages or sign-in links. Because it sets no cookies, it does not ask for consent.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties that support our service, such as our payment processor during checkout and our analytics provider. We do not control those cookies; please see the provider’s own policy for detail.
5. Do Not Track
Browsers vary in how they implement Do Not Track and there is no agreed standard, so we do not respond to those signals. Use our cookie banner instead — that choice we do honour.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The “last updated” date above shows when it last changed.
