Tell us what the car is doing
Describe it however it comes out — we would rather have your words than the right words. Priya reads these between jobs and replies the same working day.
Getting here, and where to leave the car
Tannery Lane runs off Vallis Way at the western end of Frome, past the old fabric works. Coming in on the A362 from Radstock, take the second exit at the Sainsbury’s roundabout and it is four hundred yards on the right; from Warminster on the A361, follow signs for the town centre and turn left immediately after the bridge. The yard holds nine cars and there is no charge and no time limit. If you are dropping off before we open, the key safe is on the wall to the right of the shutter — ring and we will give you the code.
What happens after you press send
Priya reads every message between jobs and replies the same working day, usually within a couple of hours. If what you have described is something we can price over the phone, you get a figure in that reply. If it needs looking at, you get two or three slots to choose from and an honest estimate of how long we will need the car. Nothing is booked without you confirming it, and we never ring back to upsell — if we have quoted you for a service, the next contact you get from us is the reminder eleven months later.
Three ways to be without a car for as short a time as possible
Wait in reception
Coffee, decent wifi and a chair with a view of the yard rather than a fluorescent waiting room. Fine for an MOT or an interim service, both of which are done inside ninety minutes.
Take a courtesy car
Free on any job over three hours if you book it with the work. Taxed, insured, MOT’d and — unusually — clean, because Priya will not let one out otherwise.
Let us collect it
Free within four miles of Frome town centre, and £1 a mile beyond that. We collect from home or from work, and we return it to whichever you would rather.
Or book a slot yourself, right now

Add a booking link to this block — your booking page, Calendly, or a phone number — or the buttons will not appear on your published site.
When we are open, and when we are actually here
The workshop runs half past seven to half past five, Monday to Friday. The phone is answered by a person in the building throughout, not a service diverted to somebody in a call centre who has never seen the place. Saturday mornings are by arrangement: ring on the Friday and we will usually fit in an MOT or a service. We close for a week at Christmas and the August bank holiday weekend, and both are announced on this page and by text to anyone with a car booked in.
Which villages we cover, and what it costs to get you back
Most of our customers are in Frome itself, with a steady run from Beckington, Mells, Nunney, Rode, Buckland Dinham and Great Elm, and a growing number from Trowbridge, Westbury and Warminster who were recommended by somebody at work. Collection and return is free within four miles of the town centre and a pound a mile beyond, so Warminster works out around eleven pounds each way — which is usually less than the diesel and the afternoon it would cost you to bring it in yourself. If your car will not start at all, we can arrange recovery through a local operator at cost, with no handling charge added on top.
“I rang at ten past eight expecting an answerphone. Priya picked up, quoted me, and had the car in on the Thursday.”

Or just turn up. We don’t mind.
Plenty of people do. If the shutter is up, somebody will come out and look at your car in the yard, and it will not cost you anything.
