The room to yourself.
Sunday to Wednesday the building is available whole: rig, crew, box office and both bars. Weddings, parties, rehearsals and three feature films so far.
Hiring the Vaudette
Sunday to Wednesday the building is yours. Three ways to take it, all of them including the rig, the crew and somebody who knows where the fuse board is.
Dry hire
The whole house
from £1,450
Sunday to Wednesday, six in the evening until midnight. Full PA and lighting rig, two engineers, a duty manager, box office staffing and both bars. Six hundred and forty standing or three hundred and twenty seated, and the get-in is at street level.
Sun–Wed · 640 capacity
Weddings
Receptions & parties
from £2,200
The room, the late licence until one, a maple floor that was laid for dancing and a balcony for the people who would rather sit and watch it. Caterers of your own or ours; we take no commission either way, which is unusual and we would rather you knew it.
Sundays and Mondays · Late licence
Daytime
Rehearsal & filming
£320 / day
Nine until five, any weekday the room is not turning around a show. Production companies, tour rehearsals, orchestral sessions and three feature films so far. The acoustic is dry and the plasterwork photographs extremely well.
Weekdays · Crew and rig extra
What is included, and what is not
The headline figure includes the room, the house PA and lighting rig, two engineers for the whole call, a duty manager, two SIA-badged door staff, box office staffing if you are selling tickets, and both bars run by our own team. It does not include catering, PRS, a piano tuner, or any hire stock we have to bring in for a rider we cannot meet — and if that last one applies we will tell you before you sign, with the actual invoice from the hire company rather than a marked-up figure. There is no minimum bar spend and no charge for the licence extension on a wedding. What we do ask is that nothing gets fixed to the plasterwork and that nobody moves the maple.
How a hire actually runs
You ring or send the form below and Esme comes back inside two working days with whether the date is free and what it would cost — a real figure, not a range. If it looks right, come and walk the room; we do that in the evening so you can see it lit. A hire agreement follows with the price, the times and the crew list on one page, and a quarter of the fee holds the date. On the day, Wilf is in from the get-in until the last flight case goes back on the truck, and the duty manager stays until the building is locked. We invoice the balance the following week. In thirteen years we have never once moved a booked hire to take a better offer, and we are not about to start.
The specification
Every corner of it, to scale
The five numbers a production manager asks for before anything else. Point at the drawing, or tab through the buttons underneath.
01
The stage
9m × 6m
Nine metres of proscenium opening, six metres of depth, four and a half metres to the grid and a one-metre deck height. Get-in is at street level through the Ravenscliffe Road side doors, straight onto the deck — no lift and no stairs.
The full technical specification, stage plan and rigging plot are a PDF — ask the box office and Esme will send it the same day.
Ask about a date
Tell us the date, roughly how many people and what sort of night it is. Esme replies inside two working days with a real figure.
“We looked at eleven venues. This was the only one where the person showing us round could answer every question without going to ask somebody.”

Come and walk the room first.
Nobody books a room like this off a photograph, and we would not want you to. Ring the box office and we will get you in one evening while it is lit, with nobody trying to sell you anything.
