Travel is included anywhere within an hour of the studio, which covers Halifax, Todmorden, Mytholmroyd, Sowerby Bridge, Haworth, Ilkley, Skipton, Saltaire, Leeds and most of Manchester. Beyond that we charge mileage at cost — not a flat fee — and a room only where the start time makes a pre-dawn drive genuinely unwise, and you will have the number in writing before you commit rather than in a supplementary invoice afterwards. Extra hours on the day are £180 an hour, decided on the day rather than agreed in advance, and about a third of full-day couples add one. A second location, an extra ceremony or a two-day celebration is quoted properly rather than bolted on. The fine-art album starts at £540 and rises with the spread count; a pair of parent copies at two-thirds size is £280 for the two. A USB in a wooden box is not something we sell, because the gallery download is better in every way and the box ends up in a drawer. What never costs anything: the planning call, the venue walk, the sneak peek, the print release, rescheduling a family session for weather, and every question you email Maddie between now and the wedding.

You send the date and the venue. Maddie replies the same working day with a yes or a no — and it is genuinely one or the other, because we take one wedding a weekend and the diary is the diary. If it is a yes, we will offer you a call, either at the studio with a coffee and three real albums on the table or on video if Hebden Bridge is a trek. Nobody is going to sit you down in front of a slideshow with music on it. A £300 deposit and a signed contract hold the date; until both of those exist the date is not held, and we will tell you plainly if somebody else is asking about it. The balance is due one month before the wedding, and you can pay it in instalments across the whole engagement if that suits you better — a lot of couples pay a hundred a month and never think about it again. If you need to move the date we will move with you where the new one is free and carry the whole deposit across, which we did fourteen times in 2020 and 2021 without charging anybody a penny for it.
