Tickets
The price on the bill is the price you pay.
No dynamic pricing, no fee that was not on the poster, and nothing at all on top if you buy at the window.
Ways in
Three ways to spend an evening here, priced plainly and printed the same way the box office has printed them since it reopened in 2012.
Admit one
Standing
£8–£28
General admission to the stalls and the sprung floor, with the balcony opened on busier nights. Buy in person at the box office and there is no booking fee at all — the machine takes it, not us, and in person there is no machine.
Standing · 18+ after 10pm
Admit six
Balcony booth
£180
One of the four original front-rail boxes, held for the night for up to six people. Two bottles included, a reserved rail with the best sightline in the building and your own staircase to the Gods Bar, so you never queue on the floor.

The building to yourself, Sunday to Wednesday: full PA and lighting rig, two engineers, box office staffing, a duty manager and both bars. Wedding receptions from £2,200 including the late licence until one.

What we charge and why
A live ticket is between twelve and twenty-eight pounds and the number is set by what the band costs, not by what we think we can get. There is no booking fee in person and one pound fifty online, which is what the payment processor charges us and not a penny more. Club nights are eight pounds in advance for Keep The Faith and ten for The Late Bill; both are two pounds more on the door and both usually sell out before that matters. A pint is five pounds twenty, a soft drink is two-forty, and tap water is free, on the bar, without anyone having to ask for it. We have never used dynamic pricing and we are never going to: the price on the poster is the price, whether the show is half empty or gone in an hour.
Concessions, and how to ask for one
Under-18s pay half price at seated shows, and a carer comes free with any ticket — you do not need to prove anything, you just tell us at the box office. Anyone claiming Universal Credit gets standing tickets at six pounds for any show we promote ourselves, which is about a third of the bill; ring rather than booking online and Esme will sort it without asking you a single awkward question. We hold ten pay-what-you-can tickets for every self-promoted show, released the morning of the gig, and there is no means test on those either. None of this is on a poster because we would rather people used it than read about it.
Refunds, transfers and the one thing we cannot do
If we cancel or move a show you get every penny back including the booking fee, automatically, inside five working days — you do not have to ask. If you cannot come, we will resell your ticket for you if the show is sold out and refund you when it goes; if it is not sold out we cannot, and we would rather say so than pretend. Tickets transfer to another name for nothing: ring the box office with the new name and it is done in a minute. What we cannot do is refund because you changed your mind about the band, and no venue this size can. The bit we can do, and do, is hold your ticket on the door under your name until half an hour before stage time, so a lost email has never once stopped anybody getting in.
