Collections

What we do, what it costs, and what is not in the small print.

Three wedding collections and four other ways to work with us. Every figure on this page is the figure on the invoice.

Three collections, and the prices are the prices

Every collection includes both of us at the planning call, a walk of your venue beforehand where it is within an hour of the studio, and the full edited gallery — never a selection of it.

A £300 deposit holds the date; the balance is due a month before. We take one wedding a weekend, so the date is genuinely gone once it is booked.

What is in every collection, without exception

Both of us at the planning call, six to eight weeks before, where we build the photography half of your timeline around the light rather than around the caterer. A walk of your venue beforehand if it is within an hour of the studio — we have shot at Crag End Barn, Stoodley Hall, Nutclough Barn, Hollin Bank Mill and The Old Bobbin Works often enough to know where the four o'clock shade falls, but we will still walk a new one. The full edited gallery, at full resolution, with a print release: around three hundred frames on a half day and six hundred on a full one, and you get all of them rather than a curated subset with the rest behind a paywall. A private online gallery you can share with a link and a password — for a year on the half day, for life on the others. A sneak peek of roughly thirty frames within four days of the wedding, which is the one that gets sent round the family group chat while you are still away. And both of us, in writing, contractually, on the day — the second photographer is included on the full day rather than sold as an upgrade, because we do not believe one person can cover a wedding properly and we would rather price honestly than pretend otherwise.

Everything that is not a wedding

A family session on the moor is £320 for ninety minutes and about sixty edited images, and it happens on your terms — Heptonstall, Hardcastle Crags, Stoodley Pike or your own back garden if that is where your children are actually themselves. We shoot these in the hour before sunset almost every time, and Joss leads them. A newborn session at home is £375 for two hours and around fifty images: no beanbags, no wraps, no props and absolutely no tidying up beforehand, because the point is the fortnight rather than the baby. An elopement or small ceremony is £850 for three hours and roughly a hundred and fifty images, which covers a register office and a long lunch afterwards, and we have done a good number of these on the tops at seven in the morning with two witnesses and a flask. A hand-bound fine-art album, made for us by a bindery in Halifax, starts at £540 for thirty spreads; Maddie designs the first draft from your gallery and you get two rounds of changes before it goes to be bound. Older galleries stay online for life on the full collections, so a couple who married with us in 2018 can still download the lot, and several of them do every anniversary.

One wedding a weekend, so most summer Saturdays go about eighteen months out. Maddie replies the same day, including when the answer is no.
