Cutting, colour, and putting colour right

Including the work most salons quietly decline: textured and curly hair, correction after a box dye, and grey that has been coloured over for twenty years.

Three kinds of appointment

Cutting

Cut wet or dry depending on the hair, not on the salon’s habit. Curly and textured hair is cut dry, by people who were taught to, and there is no surcharge for it.

Colour

Tint, foils, balayage and gloss, with the formula written on a card that goes home with you. Patch test 48 hours before, always, including for regulars.

Correction

Box dye, a banded regrowth, a green cast off a holiday pool. Quoted in person after we have seen and felt it — never over the phone, because anyone quoting that blind is guessing.

Every salon says "from". Then the price goes up at the chair because your hair is long, which everybody could see when you walked in. Here are all three figures.

A colour that needs correcting after somebody else is quoted in person and never over the phone — we have to see it. Students and NHS staff take 15% off Tuesday to Thursday.
