Telephone first

If you are worried, call.

Do not use a form, a tip, or a search box when an animal may be in danger. This number is a sample. A real emergency needs a real practice or its out-of-hours line.

Call 01632 960 482

Call now if you are worried about

  • Difficulty breathing, collapse, or a seizure
  • Bleeding you cannot stop with gentle pressure
  • A swollen, hard abdomen, or straining without passing urine
  • A possible poison, including antifreeze, lily, chocolate, or grapes
  • Heat distress: heavy panting, staggering, or not getting up
  • An injury from a road, a fall, or a fight

While you call.

Keep the animal quiet and warm if it is safe for you to do so. Do not give human medicines. Do not make them vomit unless a vet has just told you to. Bring the packet if something was eaten. This list is not a diagnosis, and it is not complete.
