How Colorado’s digital economy grew
Gold is found, and Denver is founded
Gold at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River drew roughly 100,000 prospectors in the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. Denver was founded that November.
America’s densest aerospace workforce
Colorado’s state economic development office states plainly that Colorado ranks #1 per capita in the country for aerospace employment — confirmed independently by several outlets citing the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation. More than 1,100 aerospace companies operate in the state, contributing an estimated $8.3 billion to the economy. Lockheed Martin Space runs its Waterton Campus in Jefferson County — 6,200-plus employees across 3.5 million square feet, one of the largest satellite manufacturing centers in the world. Ball Aerospace, founded in Boulder in 1956, built the corrective optics that saved the Hubble Space Telescope; it was acquired by BAE Systems for $5.6 billion in 2024 and still operates from Boulder.
A genuine military-space hub
Colorado Springs has been a military-space center since the Cheyenne Mountain Complex went operational in 1966, reinforced by the Air Force Academy and three Space Force installations — roughly half of all US Space Force personnel are still stationed in Colorado. U.S. Space Command’s own headquarters has been more contested: Colorado won a fight to keep it in 2023, then lost it to Huntsville, Alabama in a 2025 reversal, and the state is currently suing over the decision.
How Colorado businesses buy websites
Denver and Colorado Springs get the attention, but Colorado’s businesses span mountain tourist towns, Front Range suburbs and rural ranching communities that all behave differently online.
Trades and home services
Mountain towns and Front Range cities are very different markets — be specific about where you actually work.
Outdoor recreation and hospitality
Ski season and summer tourist season both drive real swings — keep hours and offers current.
Clinics, salons and studios
Online booking is the norm in the Front Range’s younger, tech-adjacent population.

Why FastSites works here
A state that builds satellites and Hubble-grade optics understands that precision doesn’t require months of lead time. A clear one-page site, live in days, at a published price, fits that same standard.
