How Florida’s digital economy grew
St. Augustine is founded
The oldest continuously occupied European-established settlement in the continental United States — 42 years before Jamestown.
From proving ground to launch capital of the world
Cape Canaveral started in 1949 as a Cold War missile-testing site. It became NASA’s primary spaceport with Explorer 1 in 1958 and Apollo’s six crewed Moon landings from 1969 to 1972. After the Space Shuttle retired in 2011, SpaceX leased the historic Pad 39A in 2014, and reusable-rocket economics rewrote the launch business — Crew Dragon returned crewed launches to US soil in 2020.
The pace since has been extraordinary: the US Space Force’s own Space Launch Delta 45 recorded 93 launches from Florida in 2024, then 109 in 2025 — at one point in November 2025, just five launches short of every other nation on Earth combined for the year. Three launch pads now operate under private lease — SpaceX, ULA and Blue Origin — alongside NASA’s own historic 39A.
Zero state income tax, built into the constitution
Florida’s 1968 constitution bars any state tax on individual income beyond what’s creditable against federal tax — a federal credit that no longer exists, which locks the personal rate at zero without a constitutional amendment. A 2018 amendment went further, requiring a two-thirds legislative supermajority to create any new state tax. Pass-through businesses — LLCs and S-corps, the kind most FastSites customers run — owe no Florida entity-level income tax at all.

Why FastSites works here
A state that launches rockets on a weekly cadence understands that speed and reliability aren’t in tension. A clear one-page site, live in days, at a published price, fits that same standard.
