Notes from the Night Registers sessions
We tracked after midnight because the building was kinder then.

The studio shared a wall with a bakery. By 5 a.m. the ovens changed the temperature of the room and the piano drifted. We stopped when we smelled bread.

Low Voltage was supposed to be an interlude. It kept the vocal from a scratch take I had meant to replace. The scratch had a crack in the second phrase that I could not find again.
Hanae mastered it quietly. She said the record did not want to be louder than the room it was made in. I have tried to keep that promise since.
