Check these answers

The property

What sort of property is it?

House A home with its own entrance. Flat A home in a larger building. Something else We will ask at the survey.

Do you own it, rent it, or lease it?

I own it I rent it The landlord has to agree before any work. I lease it The freeholder may have to agree.

Parking

Where would the car be parked?

Driveway Garage or car port Communal bay A shared area. The managing agent usually has to agree. On the street

On-street parking

A charger on the house only helps if the cable can reach the car safely. A channel across the pavement is one option. It may need permission from the local council. Some councils have no scheme. This quote does not promise a kerbside install, and it does not mean permission will be granted.

The car

What will you charge?

Small electric car Family electric car Electric van Not sure That is fine. A 7.4 kW charger suits most homes.

About how many miles a year? A rough figure is enough. It does not change the sample install price. It helps the later savings calculator.

Where the charger would go

Install location

Outside wall Garage wall Car port Somewhere else

How far is the cable run?

Up to 5 m Included in the sample standard install. 5 to 10 m 10 to 15 m 15 to 25 m 25 m or more The top of this range is set at the survey.

How would the cable be routed?

Inside the wall Clipped outside A neat surface run. No trench. In a trench Digging is priced per metre, on top of the cable.

The electrics

“I don’t know” is a proper answer. The survey is how those facts get checked. Unknown items sit on the high side of the range only.

Consumer unit, the fusebox

Fairly new, with modern protection Old, or I know it lacks protection I don’t know

Earthing

Earthing is the safety path that clears a fault. The type is often on a sticker inside the fusebox.

TN-S PME or TN-C-S TT I don’t know

Single phase or three phase?

Most houses are single phase. Three phase is a heavier supply, common in some larger buildings. 22 kW needs it.

Single phase Three phase I don’t know

Signal where the charger would go

Wi-Fi Mobile signal Not sure Neither

The charger

22 kW is switched off because a single-phase supply cannot run it. 7.4 kW is the usual maximum.

Which sample charger?

Lane 7 7.4 kW, tethered. Lane 7 Solar 7.4 kW, with solar matching. Lane 22 22 kW, untethered. Three phase only. Not sure The range spans the models that fit your supply.

Cable

Tethered, cable fixed on the unit Untethered, I will use my own cable Not sure

Solar or a home battery?

Yes, integrate them in the sample price No

Load management

The charger eases off when the house is already using a lot of power.

Include it Leave it out

App control is included in the sample charger price. It still needs a signal at the wall.
