The studio

Two planners, and enough time.

Vow & Venue started in 2019 because we were tired of weddings that looked arranged and felt rushed. We work as a pair: Mara Ellison and Helen Crowe. One of us leads your plan. The other is there when the day is large enough to need a second pair of hands.

Mara Ellison

Mara leads most full-planning briefs.

She is particular about timelines and kind about families who do not agree yet. Before the studio she produced seated dinners for a hotel, which is why she still asks about the kitchen before the flowers.

Helen Crowe

Helen leads partial planning and day-of.

She is good at the last eight weeks, when decisions have piled up and someone needs to make a single list. On large days you will see both of us.

Portraits here are drawings. We will not use photographs of the two of us, or of couples, without a proper reason and permission.

Who we are a good fit for.

  1. You want a host, not a director

We will cue an entrance. We will not invent a personality for the two of you.

  2. The guest list is real

From a dinner of thirty-six to a castle of one hundred and sixty. The plan changes. The care does not.

  3. You would like the truth early

If a venue cannot feed your number, or a date is too tight, we would rather say so in the first meeting.

Shall we talk it through?
