The most isolated archipelago on Earth
Hawaii’s own state government describes it plainly: the islands sit roughly 2,400 miles from the nearest continental shore, making them the most isolated archipelago in the world. That distance shapes nearly every other economic fact about the state — almost everything manufactured, and much of the food supply, arrives by container ship or air freight, which is a direct driver of Hawaii’s cost of living, among the highest in the US.
The only state that grows coffee for a living
Hawaii is the only US state with a commercial coffee industry, grown mostly in the Kona Coffee Belt — a narrow band on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa with volcanic soil and a sunny-morning, cloudy-afternoon microclimate. It’s a genuine premium product: in 2024, Hawaii-grown green coffee exported by ocean freight averaged $27.42 a pound against a global composite price of $2.40 — more than eleven times the going rate. The premium made the "Kona" name worth protecting: a 2024 law raised the minimum actual Kona content required in a "Kona"-labeled blend from just 10% to 51%, after farmers spent years arguing the old rule enabled consumer fraud.
How Hawaii businesses buy websites
Distance changes the economics here more than almost anywhere else in the US. A business found online first and visited in person second is the norm, not the exception, across the islands.
Tourism and hospitality
Visitors plan trips online weeks in advance — a clear, fast-loading site matters more here than almost anywhere.
Trades and home services
Which island, and which part of it, changes everything — be specific about where you actually work.
Professional services
Businesses serving the visitor and agricultural economies need clarity about exactly what they offer.

Why FastSites works here
A state where nearly everything has to be shipped in understands the cost of complexity better than most. A clear one-page site, live in days, at a published price, is the simple version done right.
