Admitted to the Union on June 1.
The Memphis Superhub
Fred Smith’s Yale term paper proposing an owned-fleet overnight delivery network became Federal Express, incorporated in 1971 and flying its first overnight routes from Memphis in 1973. Today the Memphis Superhub spans 940 acres with 171 aircraft gates, 84 miles of conveyor belt, and the capacity to sort up to 484,000 packages an hour, employing more than 13,000 people. Memphis was the world’s busiest cargo airport for years running — built on the same engineering scale that made overnight delivery possible in the first place.
Music City, U.S.A.
The Grand Ole Opry has broadcast continuously from Nashville since 1925, the longest-running radio broadcast in American history, marking its 100th anniversary in 2025. The Country Music Association, founded there in 1958, anchored Music Row as the industry’s commercial center. It’s a real, measured economy: the Nashville region’s music industry adds an estimated $8.6 billion a year, supporting nearly 81,000 music-and-entertainment jobs — 3rd nationally behind only Los Angeles and New York.

Why FastSites works here
A state that built its reputation on overnight delivery and a live show that hasn’t missed a broadcast in a century understands the value of reliability. A clear one-page site, live in days, at a published price, is that same discipline for a small business.
