A shop with a cutting table.
Thread & Needle opened in 2016 with a rail, a table and the idea that a boutique should feel like a well-kept wardrobe. We are still the people who cut Solenne and buy the rest.

The studio
Solenne is cut here, not in a factory we have never visited. Cloth arrives as a whole roll. We lay it by hand. The shirt dress is on the straight grain. The column has almost no ease through the hip, which is why the size guide asks you to measure.
Alterations on Solenne are part of the first fitting. Other labels we can hem and take in when the cloth allows. Thursday afternoons are for mending.

What we keep
Northloom knits, Marrow trousers, Cinder Row shirts, Hearthline coats and boots, Lumen for the evening. Six names, counted again each season. If a cloth does not earn its place, it does not come back.
We do not run drops, and we do not put prizes on the wall. The work is the rail, the repairs, and whether a thing still looks right after a wet week.
