A FastSites site is made of pages, and each page is made of sections stacked in order — a hero, then a services section, then a testimonials section, and so on. Understanding that split makes the editor much faster to work in.
Editing content directly
Most text and images can be edited right where they appear on the page — click a heading to edit it, click an image to replace it. There's no separate "content" screen to hunt through; the page you're looking at is the thing you're editing.
Adding, removing and reordering sections
Hover over any section to reveal its controls — add a new section above or below it, duplicate it, or remove it entirely. Sections can be dragged to reorder them, so restructuring a page doesn't mean rebuilding it.
The Site Settings panel
Site-wide and page-level settings live in one place: open Site Settings from the editor toolbar. It's organised into tabs — Menus for your navigation, Layout for content width (full-width, boxed, narrow), Page for per-page settings like SEO title and description, and Components for small shared widgets. Layout sits right next to Page in the tab order because they're the two settings you tend to check together when a page's proportions look off.
Adding a new page
New pages are added from the same panel and immediately editable like any other — build the sections, add it to your menu (see Building and organizing your site menu), and it's part of your site.
A good habit
Work through a page top to bottom rather than jumping around — it's the easiest way to catch a section that still has placeholder copy from the template before you publish.
