FAQ

Straight answers, before you book.

If your question is “is it an emergency?”, skip this and use the phone. Everything else is below.

Do you cover my street?

We work across south and central Manchester: Didsbury, Chorlton, Withington, Sale, Altrincham, Stockport, Stretford, Urmston, Salford Quays and the city centre. If you are just outside that, call — we would rather say no than arrive late.

Are the prices on the site a quote?

They are a guide for a typical house, so you can see the shape of the bill before you call. The quote is the number we give after we know the boiler, the parts and the access. It does not move once you have accepted it, unless you ask for extra work.

Who actually turns up?

A Fixwell engineer, Gas Safe registered for gas work. We do not sell the job on to a franchise van. You get a name when we book the slot.

What if I only want a second opinion?

Book a diagnose visit. The £89 is the cost of that opinion. Plenty of people use it to check whether a ‘you need a new boiler’ verdict was fair.

How does Fixwell Care work?

£12.50 a month. It includes the annual service and removes the call-out fee. Parts are 10% off. Leave after the first month if it is not useful — we do not do twelve-month locks.

Will you work in a rented flat?

Yes, with the landlord’s go-ahead for anything that changes a fixture. Tenants can book a make-safe in an emergency; we copy the landlord on the quote before we repair.

What guarantee do I get?

Twelve months on our workmanship. Manufacturer warranties sit on top for new boilers and parts, and we register them. If something we did fails inside the year, we come back without a fresh call-out fee.

How quickly can you get here?

Same-day for heating and leaks booked before early afternoon, most weekdays. Emergencies are 24 hours. Services and installs are usually within a week, sooner in mild weather.
