Asked after the snag, not during it.
A short note from the household, once they have lived with the colour. We do not edit out the practical bits.

Notes from finished houses
Asked after snagging, not on the day the last tin is closed.
They talked us out of a fashionable grey and into a plaster that makes the evening lamp look warm. The stairs are the straightest they have been in twenty years.
The estimate listed the caulk, the crack over the window, and the door that sticks. Nothing vague, and the flat was left sweepable every night.
We had a sample on the wall for a weekend before anyone opened a tin. The harbour blue is deep at supper and still readable at breakfast.
Nursery done in low-odour paint, with a written list of what was used. Skirting is eggshell and already forgiven a buggy scuff.
Front elevation timed around a wet fortnight without drama. The door colour is the one the neighbours now ask about.
A one-bed near King’s Cross. They edited three colours down to two and did not try to sell us a feature wall we did not need.
