Brush a little, often. Feet and behind the ears collect knots first. Stop if your dog is worried, and try again later.

Check paws after wet walks. A plain balm is enough. Keep shampoo for the bath, not for every muddy afternoon.

Most dogs in this sample diary are ready for another visit in about six weeks. That is a rhythm, not a rule.

Original sample writing. Not veterinary advice, and not a promise of results.
