Deep clean / one-off

Not a longer weekly visit. A different list.

After builders, before an inventory, or when the house has had a hard year. Book it once. Keep us weekly afterwards if you want.

The reset

What the day is actually for

On the calculator, choose Deep reset. It adds 45% to the maintain price because the work is slower: scale, skirtings, appliance interiors. A two-bed one-off reset is usually a morning and part of an afternoon.

  • Skirtings, door tops, and light switches
  • Scale on glass, taps, and shower channels
  • Inside the oven, or the fridge if you have emptied it
  • Cupboards you have cleared
  • Behind the sofa, if two of us can lift it
  • The cooker pulled out when the floor allows
  • Windows on the inside
  • A written snag list of anything we could not reach

Before we arrive

Empty the fridge, or tell us not to open it.

We will not decide which jar is science and which is lunch. If you want the inside done, clear it the night before. Same for cupboards. We move what two people can lift, and we will not pretend about the piano.

You get a short note: what was done, and what the furniture would not allow.

Next visit

Tell us the place. We’ll tell you the morning.

Most first visits are inside two days. If the diary is full, Lewis says so rather than inventing a slot.
