What the call-out fee actually buys

£89 in the daytime, £165 out of hours. It is the visit and the diagnosis — not a down payment on a mystery repair.

The daytime fee covers travel, the first hour of diagnosis and a written price. If you say yes to the repair and we can do it then, the £89 comes off. If you say no, you still leave with a clear fault and a figure you can compare.

Out of hours is £165 because someone is leaving their house, not because the spanner costs more. The repair is still quoted. If the safe thing at midnight is to isolate a leak and return at eight, we do that rather than padding the invoice.

Parts are extra and named. We do not have a ‘service kit’ line that hides a £4 washer. If a part has to be ordered, we say when it will be back on the van and whether you will be without heat.

Guide prices on the pricing page are for ordinary south-Manchester houses. Listed buildings, asbestos, and boilers buried in a cupboard behind a tumble dryer take longer. You will hear that on the phone, not on the doorstep.
