Kitchens punish a single finish used everywhere. A dead matte on cupboard doors shows every fingerprint by the second week. A high gloss on a wall shows every roller line the plaster was hiding.
Our usual split is simple. Walls in a wipeable matte, far enough from the hob that steam is a guest rather than a resident. Doors, drawers, and window boards in eggshell or satin, after a proper key and primer. Ceilings stay matte, because shine overhead is unkind.
If the existing doors are a tired lacquer, we say so. Paint can refresh them. It cannot invent a factory finish. The estimate will tell you which is which before anyone sands a corner.
