Lumen Field
An architecture practice that publishes its thinking.
Sample content
01 — Brief
What we were asked to do
A six-person practice had outgrown a wordmark set in a default sans. They also publish a slim annual field journal and needed both to feel like the same office.
02 — Studies
Drawing before deciding
03 — Identity
The mark we kept
A slit of light through a frame — plan and section at once. The identity is quiet enough for a title block and strong enough for a cover. The journal uses the same grid as the project sheets.
04 — Compare
Before and after
The “before” is a sample of an unresolved identity, not a real previous brand.
Left: before. Right: after.

Bricolage Grotesque & Outfit
Variable grotesk for the name, a plain sans for everything that has to be read.

What changed Sample content
Sample content. The practice said the new title block and journal template shortened the time spent formatting sheets. No external claim is made beyond that note.
