About

Father, son, and two more who stayed.

Tom Spark started the firm in 1987 with a Transit and a board he still complains about. Jamie runs the quotes. Priya and Chris test. Nobody is a ‘team lead’.

The yard is still in Ancoats, one floor up from a unit that used to be a mill engine house. The sign is newer than the stairs. The test kit is newer than the sign.

We stayed small on purpose. Four people can answer the phone, remember the house, and put the same name on the certificate that was on the quote.

Domestic work is the week. Small commercial — a bar, a landlord’s void, an office floor — is booked around it, usually after hours so the other trades are not standing on our ladder.
