How the job runs
Call the emergency number if you can smell warm plastic, hear arcing, or the RCD will not hold and you have unplugged everything. If it is a lamp that wants changing, we will tell you to wait until morning and we will not charge you for the advice.
Make-safe is isolate, prove dead, and leave you with light and a freezer circuit if we can. The permanent repair is quoted before we start it.
- If you can do it dry and without forcing anything, switch off at the main isolator.
- Unplug everything on the circuit that tripped.
- Do not take the board cover off.
- Keep the phone free. We call back from a mobile.
