Full and partial rewires
New circuits in occupied houses, floor by floor, with the kitchen left usable at night.
- Occupied-house method
- First-fix then make good
- Kitchen and lighting kept live overnight
- EICR at the end, included

How the job runs
A rewire is dusty. We say so, then we plan it so you are not living in one room with an extension lead for a fortnight. First fix runs while you are out; we reinstate a temporary supply each evening.
Partial rewires are often the honest answer: the upstairs lighting is fine, the kitchen and the shower are not. We test before we recommend a full strip-out.
We recommend one when
The cable is the problem.
- Rubber or lead cable
- No CPC on the lighting
- Damaged twins buried in still-wet plaster
- A ‘lighting circuit’ that is actually three houses of borrowed neutrals
We do not recommend one because
The board is brown.
- The faceplate is brass
- An online checklist said anything older than 30 years must go
